Filled Under:

samsung tablet vs ipad

After the success of ipad there came the tablet computer to give tough competition to ipad. Tablet PC’s are really hitting it big times in on today’s tech product scene. It will not be wrong say that tablets are seen in some many ways to become the future of mobile computing. Recently introduced Samsung Galaxy Tab and Dell Streak 7 Tablets are worth comparing as they not only stand in competition against one another, but have been positioned alongside the iPad.

What’s more, they have promised steady sales since their plunge. The fact that both these tablets have the ability to make calls, brings them in the lineup of Smartphones.

Processor:
Both Samsung Galaxy Tab and Dell Streak 7 are Android powered tablets runs on Android 2.2 and works on T-Mobile superfast HSPA+ mobile broadband network. The Dell Streak with Nvidia Tegra T20, Dual Core, 1 GHz processor should spell better gaming and graphic processing as compare with Samsung Galaxy Cortex A8 1.2GHz CPU, PowerVR SGX540.
Design:
The Galaxy and Dell Streak are 7 inch hot tablets have similar form factor with almost same physical dimensions. However there is very large difference in weight as Dell Streak is 70g heavier than Samsung Galaxy Tab, yet it is feature packed and looked like a mini mobile computer. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy tab and Dell Streak 7 took much of the attention seeing that it embodies all the rich and up-to-date features from the open platform. And when compared to the Dell Streak's slim profile and clean surface, the Tab is not that pocketable.

Display:
Both Samsung Galaxy Tab and Dell Streak 7 are nicely engineered Tab with a 7 inch SWVGA TFT vibrant touch display, yet the former overpowers or outshines the latter with better 1200 x 600 pixel resolution. A score draw this time with both tablets providing exactly the same options in the storage department and both expandable as well. Neither match up to the 64GB internal you can get with the iPad but, if you’ve really got a problem with space, it might be time to delete some stuff.

Camera and video:
Both the tablets rock the mobile industry with exactly the same specs and that’s very much the case in the imaging department since Samsung made a slight tinker to the rear camera on the Galaxy Tab. Both tablets will allow you all the video and stills capture you like as well as video calling too.

Storage Capacity and Battery life:
As far as storage capacity of both the tablets concerned they score equal marks this time with both tablets providing 16GB internal storage and 32GB expandable microSD card slot. The Dell Streak’s battery life is far short of that of the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Price:
hile the Samsung Galaxy Tab maybe more expensive device than the Dell Streak, however both the tablets are available at Cellhub.com at their lowest price in the market.
All in all beauty is certainly in the eye of the beholder, but when you have a look at the two devices in question one thing becomes immediately apparent the Galaxy Tab looks like a tablet and the Streak looks, well, more like a big Smartphone.
